Children and Youth
Children and Youth are not the future
of our church – they are here now! In the Diocese of Oklahoma, we recognize and
celebrate Jesus’ special love for the youngest among us, and we make our
ministries that form young people as disciples of Jesus a priority.
Children’s Ministries
In our
Children’s Ministries, we follow the Children’s Charter of The Episcopal
Church, which recognizes that we have three main responsibilities for providing Christian Formation to
our children:
- Provide Nurture of the child;
- Provide Ministry to the Child; and,
- Provide Ministry of the Child.
As an
Episcopal community of faith, in our Baptismal Covenant we have agreed to “continue
in the apostles' teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of the bread, and in
the prayers.” Serving our children and helping to provide a solid faith
foundation, is one of the most important things our Church can do!

Youth Ministries
In our Youth Ministries,
we recognize that as children mature into youth, they are challenged by the
things of this world. Their Christian foundation needs to continue to grow. The
Church should be a place where they are allowed to question the hard topics of
life. They are learning how to be followers of Jesus, while they are finding
their place in the church as acolytes, lay readers, greeters, ushers, and
congregants. This broad spectrum of interests is challenging and rewarding!
