Communications

Communications

Communication plays a vital role in our everyday lives. It’s how we tell our stories, how we share our experiences, and how we engage in our communities. It’s how we celebrate (birthday cards, phone calls, Facebook messages), how we convey the news (newspapers, online articles, electronic newsletters), how we share in ministry (weekly sermons, stories of serving in outreach, online evangelism). Communication is at the very core of what we do as people, and at the very heart of what we do as Christians.

We provide numerous avenues to help our diocese, our congregations, and our organizations share their stories of mission, ministry, and outreach; share upcoming events and special occasions; and share announcements, job postings, and more! In addition to our diocesan website, we have a Facebook page, Twitter account, YouTube Channel, weekly diocesan newsletter, and a diocesan app. Check out the pages below to learn more about each of these great tools!

In addition to these great tools, our Diocesan Director of Communications, Nicole Baxley, provides communication training, education, and consulting for our congregations, institutions, organizations, clergy, and lay leaders on communication needs, including:

  • Practical skills (website, social media, newsletter, etc.)
  • Strategy (creation, implementation, maintenance of communication strategy)
  • Visioning/mission development (facilitation of process, analysis, report, next steps)
  • Communication audit (review and analysis of current communication, recommendations for future growth)
  • Branding and visual representation (signs, logos, marketing materials, etc.)

She also provides a monthly communication blog with tips, resources, education, and training!
