Dear Clergy and Wardens:
The 28th annual Vestry Academy will be held the weekend of March 5th-6th, 2021 virtually via zoom. This conference theme this year is “Leading Faithfully in Uncertain Times” and will focus primarily on the Vestry member’s role as a leader in their congregation.
There are two parts to this exciting weekend:
Friday Evening all current Senior and Junior Wardens as well as their Clergy are invited to bring your own cocktail and have a virtual cocktail hour with the Bishop. This event will start at 6:00pm. You must register for this event as well as the Saturday event in order to attend both gatherings.
Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. all vestry members and clergy are encouraged to attend. This year we are introducing two separate tracks for Vestry members to select from.
Track #1 Vestry Essentials
Especially for new Vestry members, this track will help participants learn the essentials of how to be an effective Vestry leader, especially in the areas of the canons, finance, and best practices.
Track #2 Leading for Congregational Vitality
Join the Ministry Partners Team from the Diocesan Office during Vestry Academy as we examine congregational vitality from a 40-thousand foot view all the way down to the nitty-gritty practical ways in which communication, formation, and stewardship help lead to healthy congregations.
All congregations that receive financial assistance from the Diocese are required to send members of the Bishop’s Committee as well as their Clergy as a condition of their assistance.
Registration for this event is free and closes February 26th. The week before the event the zoom link will be sent to the e-mail on file.
