Bishop Seating

Bishop Seating
August 8

On Saturday, August 8, at 11am, St. Paul’s Cathedral in Oklahoma City will host a service for the Welcoming and Seating of the new Bishop. This ceremony signals the passing of authority from the current Bishop Diocesan, Bishop Ed, to the Bishop Coadjutor, Bishop Poulson. Elements of the liturgy include the seating of the new Bishop in the “cathedra” (the Bishop’s chair in the cathedral), and the passing of the diocesan crosier (the Bishop’s staff).

In keeping with our COVID-19 protocols, each congregation may send only one clergy person and one lay person (RSVP NOW CLOSED) so that we may keep social distance.

The service will be live streamed on the Diocesan YouTube Page.

Bishop Poulson will celebrate and preach. For clergy attending, the liturgical color is white, for the feast of St. Dominic.
