The mission of the Church is to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ. (Book of Common Prayer, p. 855)
What is the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma? We are the Episcopal Branch of the Jesus Movement here in Oklahoma:
We are following Jesus into loving, liberating, and life-giving relationship with God, with each other, and with the Earth.
Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma transforms lives in the love of Jesus
Christ through evangelism, discipleship, nurture, and service. As we
engage with others in the love of Christ, God draws us together into
worship, prayer, and a transformed life of service in Jesus' name.
We invite you to experience the love and purpose that Jesus offers.
In the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma, we live by six core values:
In the Great Commission, Jesus commands us, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you " (Matthew 28:19-20).
The life transformation that Jesus offers us is a lifelong process that begins with evangelism, when we hear the good news of Jesus and respond to it. It continues through learning, serving, and a lifetime of discipleship. Our commitment to our Christian faith is expressed in our baptismal covenant to serve Christ and others. As our own lives are transformed by Jesus’ love, we begin to transform the lives of our neighbors and the world around us.
The congregations and institutions of our diocese have the leading role in transforming lives in their churches and communities. In our diocesan office, we support those front-line ministries in their mission, to help them grow in health, strength, and service to God and others.
