Bishop Poulson shares an update on the annual Bishop's Appeal.
Dear Friends,
Thanks to the generous donations of so many, this year’s Bishop’s Appeal raised over $26,000 to support ministries to feed the hungry across our state. Experts have called this year’s combination of record inflation and lower donations to food pantries a “perfect storm” for the vulnerable. Our diocese was able to provide not only food but compassion at a difficult time in one of the hungriest states in the nation, by following the teachings of Jesus.
So far, we have distributed $2,000 each to 13 feeding ministries at or closely connected to Episcopal congregations across our diocese. As additional donations come in, they too will be distributed to other worthy feeding programs.
