St. John’s Episcopal Church is a traditional, liturgical church that is looking to expand its children, youth
and family offerings. Our goal is to create exciting programs that are Christocentric and show an
appreciation for Scripture and liturgy. To achieve this goal, we are seeking a part-time (up to 19hrs)
Associate to help in a variety of areas around the parish. The responsibilities of this position are as
follows: 1) Assisting in Christian formation for children and youth. 2) Maintaining a hospitable
environment. 3) Running and/or managing AV/Tech equipment and staff. 4) Assisting in the liturgy.
Work hours include Sunday mornings, select evenings and participation in church activities/events. Pay
is $17 per hour.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills.
- Physically capable of setting up for events (i.e. chairs, booths, etc.).
- A desire to work with and educate children, teens, and/or adults.
- CPR/First Aid Certified.
- Knowledge of the church’s AV/Tech system.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a Ministry/Education related field.
- Knowledge of the Episcopal Church.
Tasks
- Assists and leads a Sunday formation group.
- Builds relationships with parishioners.
- Keeps in contact with supervisor, via phone, email, text, etc., to ensure classrooms are up to standard.
- Takes required courses for child safety, as per regulations of the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma.
- Assists in Sunday morning worship.
- Welcomes people in the building from the East Door.
- Present for Church events.
- Assists in AV/Tech for worship.
