We are excited to announce a partnership with the Episcopal Church Foundation to encourage and enhance our Diocese's planned giving efforts. This new program will establish a planned giving cohort of five selected congregations based on their application. The year-long process will assist congregations as they maneuver the different stages of a planned giving program, culminating with launching their program in their community.

Imagine the impact an endowment or a larger one could have on your congregation. Planned giving and establishing an endowment is an excellent way to create a permanent income stream separate from your annual giving program and other fundraising initiatives.

Below is a rough outline and what to expect at each stage.

Stage 1 - Laying the Groundwork (Months 0-6)
They are setting the foundation for ongoing efforts in raising awareness around the ministry of Planned Giving. At this stage, congregations identify their congregation's Planned Giving Shepherd(s), educate those leaders on the basics of planned giving, and establish endowment structure and gift acceptance policies. The congregations will write a personalized Planned Giving Statement.

Stage 2 – Proactive Momentum (Months 7-9)
Planned Giving Shepherds will begin raising awareness and educating potential donors around the subject of planned/legacy giving. Congregations will start to develop its own personalized Planned Giving literature utilizing resources developed by ECF and the Presbyterian Foundation.

Stage 3 – Launching Your Legacy Society (Months 10-12)
At this stage, congregations will formally launch their Legacy Society and plan their first Legacy Society recognition event. The congregation will develop a plan for maintaining their planned giving ministry into the next year and beyond.
