St. John's, Norman calls Rector

St. John’s Episcopal Church in Norman, Oklahoma calls the Rev. James Detrich as their new Rector. 

St. John’s Episcopal Church in Norman, Oklahoma calls the Rev. James Detrich as their new Rector. The announcement was made via video by Senior Warden Holly Cole and can be viewed HERE.

The Rev. Detrich was ordained to the diaconate in November 2017 and six months later as priest. He spent his first 14 months of clerical ministry at Holy Trinity by the Lake (Rockwell/Heath, Texas) serving as Director of Christian Education as well as Youth Director.

He has a Masters of Theology and a doctorate in theology from Dallas Theological Seminary and pre-ordination education from the University of Toronto. He completed undergraduate studies at Tennessee Temple University where he met his wife LeEtta who has an established career as a paralegal.

He most recently served as rector of Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Farmers Branch, Texas. Fr. Detrich looks forward to his new call stating, “I’m thrilled to be joining Saint John’s in Norman. And I feel so privileged to be coming to such an energetic and talented group of clergy that’s here in this Diocese. I know the Lord will do great and wonderful things here in Oklahoma!”

Fr. Detrich’s first day at St. John’s will be April 18th.
