The Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma seeks qualified candidates for the Director of Communications position and the Canon of Congregational Vitality position
The Canon for Congregational Vitality (CCV) serves as an integral member of the Bishop’s Executive Staff, alongside the Canon to the Ordinary and the Canon for Finance and Administration.
The CCV will have primary responsibility for developing and executing the diocesan strategy for congregational vitality, consistent with the Bishop’s vision, and in collaboration with the diocesan staff team known as the Ministry Partners (the directors of faith formation, stewardship, and communications).

The Director of Communications will be a talented, dedicated, and technologically gifted individual who will serve as a Digital Storyteller, tasked with promoting the mission and ministry of the Diocese of Oklahoma. The Director will focus efforts on supporting the specific ministries of the Bishop’s Office, our congregations, St. Crispin’s Conference and Camp Center, our affiliated organizations and our Episcopal schools. Efforts to share the stories of the mission and ministry of the diocese will include both our internal constituents, as well as a wider audience.
The Director will have an exceptional understanding of social media which will be utilized to build relationships and deliver the stories of the diocese’s mission and ministry across multiple channels. The Director will have the ability to spot and produce quality content, and to deliver to relevant social media channels quickly and effectively. The Director will be a media influencer; bringing these gifts to bear in support of Diocesan staff, congregations, and affiliated organizations, by telling their stories to the public, in order achieve marketing objectives. The workload will be high and varied, so the Director must be able to travel across the diocese to capture the story of our events. The Director will need to be able to respond to urgent matters, in order to not delay news and updates to our constituents, which may include working some evenings and weekends. The Director must multitask across various projects and be willing to remain flexible. This Director reports to the Canon for Congregational Vitality.
