The Rev. Cheryl Harder, as she is known, comes to us from Trinity Episcopal Church in Hermantown, MN, where she served from 2005 until the present. At Trinity Hermantown, Mother Cheryl was responsible for the liturgy, pastoral care, as well as providing spiritual counseling for parishioners. She is a certified “Safeguarding God's People” trainer and has extensive work with youth in the Diocese of Minnesota.
Mother Cheryl received her B.A. in Criminology from the University of Minnesota and her M.S. in Education in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin. Cheryl spent twenty-five years as a Probation Officer/Corrections Agent for Arrowhead Regional Corrections in Minnesota. She has also served as an Institutional Supervisor (NERCC) at Arrowhead Regional Correctional Institution and has taught correctional curriculum at Fond du Lac Community College, in Cloquet, MN. Mother Cheryl has spent well over twenty-five years working with those who are dealing with addictive disorders.
Mother Cheryl has served northern Minnesota as a priest for sixteen years and is an amazingly gifted preacher with spiritual awareness and genuineness of heart and mind. Mother Cheryl has a deep understanding of the church and how that relates to the wider community. Cheryl will bring her gifts for relational connections to Trinity, particularly in the areas of newcomers, children, youth, young adults, and families.
Mother Cheryl is a crafter/quilter/crocheter and loves to create things with her hands. She and her husband, Ron Missine, moved to Tulsa just as we began facing the challenges of digital church and we are thrilled to have her as part of our team as we innovate and recreate ministry.
Mother Cheryl started her post at Trinity March 18th.
