I write to share with you a transition in the Diocesan Staff. The Rev. Canon Dr. Bill Carroll has recently received and accepted a call back to parish ministry. Effective April 7th, he will begin serving as Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in Longview, Texas. Canon Bill’s last day serving as Canon for Clergy Transitions and Congregational Life will be April 6th.
Canon Bill first arrived in Oklahoma in 2012 as Rector of Emmanuel, Shawnee. In 2016, he joined the Diocesan Staff. In our diocese, he has also served as Chair of the Bishop’s Committee on Same-Gender Marriage, as President of the Standing Committee, as Associate Dean of the IONA School of Formation, as a General Convention Deputy, and as an Examining Chaplain in Theology. We are very grateful for Bill’s committed service in this diocese, and for his many contributions to diocesan life.
The Rev. Tracey Carroll will remain as Vicar of St. David’s, Oklahoma City until the end of the school year, and then plans to join Canon Bill in Longview. We will provide an opportunity for the diocese to say farewell to Bill and Tracey, and to thank them for their dedicated ministry.
