The Bishop's Committee of St. Luke's Chickasha announced last week that the Rev. Lin Stern will be transitioning out of her role as Vicar. The Rev. Bill Carlin will serve as supply for St. Luke's in the interim.
Mtr. Lin will be moving to the Memphis area to be closer with to family. She states, "As I move to Memphis to assist in distance learning for my two grandchildren - first grade and fourth grade - I leave Oklahoma with a heavy heart. I have been met with such hospitality, kindness and compassion in my transition to the Episcopal Church. I will look forward to living faithful to my orders by serving a rural church or supply preaching in TN if there is a place for a woman priest who loves people and the Lord. I give God thanks every day for the wonderful memories and blessings received here."
Mtr. Lin was ordained a pastor in the United Methodist Church in 1997. After completing training at the Iona School of Formation she was ordained to the bi-vocational priesthood in 2016 in the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma.
She served part-time as Vicar at St. Luke's Chickasha and full-time as a Chaplain in the Norman Regional Health System. Previously, she was a registered nurse.
Her last day at St. Luke's will be September 13th.
