The Committee has begun the process of discerning candidates to put forth on the slate for Bishop Coadjutor. Following the close of the nominating period on July 6th, The Search and Nominating Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma reviewed the applications of all of the candidates which included answers to five essay questions and contacted the references which they each were asked to provide.
BISHOP SEARCH UPDATE
The Committee has begun the process of discerning candidates to put forth on the slate for Bishop Coadjutor. Following the close of the nominating period on July 6th, The Search and Nominating Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma reviewed the applications of all of the candidates which included answers to five essay questions and contacted the references which they each were asked to provide.
Over the next several weeks the Search and Nominating Committee will conduct a more in-depth screening of the candidates that includes: video interviews, thorough background checks, extensive interviews with all the candidates’ current and previous bishops, as well as additional references checks.
After this process is completed, the Search and Nominating Committee will use this information to select the semi-finalists who will be invited to a two day discernment retreat with the Committee. Following this retreat and a period of deep discernment, the Search and Nominating Committee will select a slate of candidates to present to the Standing Committee by October 1st.
