St. Mark's Seminole Virtual Advent Walk

St. Mark's Seminole Virtual Advent Walk

St. Mark's Seminole invites you to join them in a Virtual Walk to Bethlehem for the Season of Advent.  Below are more details.

Purpose:
Getting exercise during a busy time of year and creating space for thinking about the reason for the season, even if just for 30 - 40 minutes each day. And you will learn a bit of geography and about some of the sites along the journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem.

What do we actually do?
Yes, you will really walk! It is up to you if you want to do all the walking or if you are going to partner with someone. You need 2.8 miles per day (Approx. 6,100 steps) to arrive in Bethlehem in time for Mary’s due date. If you are partnering, you need a team name (ex: Cold Feet)

How to join:
Join the FB group and name your team or enter your name if you are doing all the walking. Log in each day and enter your mileage or steps for either yourself or your team. We will keep track of you total miles and announce as people arrive in Bethlehem. The dilemma of where you will stay once you reach Bethlehem will be yours…..no reservations, hopefully there is room in the inn.

What to expect:
There will be a post from the leader each day that will include scripture, meditation, or prayer and a challenge will be given each week (ex. walk in sandals).
