Grace Ponca City Epiphany Pageant

Grace Ponca City Epiphany Pageant

The children of Grace Episcopal Church, Ponca City, performed in our 75th annual Epiphany Pageant on Monday, January 6.

The Rev. Thomas Moehle became rector of Grace Episcopal Church in 1944 and initiated the first Grace Church Epiphany Pageant and Reception on January 6, 1945.  We have continued this tradition for 75 years with children of all ages participating.

Epiphany is a Christian feast day that celebrates the revelation of God incarnate as Jesus Christ.  The feast commemorates principally the visit of the Magi to the Christ Child and is also known as The Feast of the Three Kings.

Epiphany is one of the three principal and oldest festival days of the Christian church.  The other two are Easter and Christmas.

During the Epiphany reception, "King's Cake" is served and one piece contains a ring. The person finding the ring is the next king or queen of Epiphany.

This year, 2019 Queen Judy Branch crowned Cheryl Happ as the 2020 Queen of Epiphany.
