St. Matthew's, Enid Participates in MLK Celebration


St. Matthew's, Enid participated in an ecumenical service at St. Stephen's AME Church with five other denominations celebrating the Life and Legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.


In an interview with the Enid News and Eagle, Pastor Garland Ray Hall of St. Stephen's commented on the importance of ecumenical events: "As we progress in a fast-paced society we can forget where we came from, the gains we've made in unity and equality for all men and women," he said, "and when we forget that, things like racism and separatism come back up."
