Incline Our Hearts with Bishop Poulson
Introducing Incline Our Hearts
One of the things that surfaced in last year's discernment conversations that I held to mark my five years as Bishop was a desire from Oklahoma Episcopalians to hear from me more often about matters of faith and life. I was gratified that those in our diocese trust me to share my thoughts, and find them helpful in navigating the uncertain times in which we live.
And so, with the help of Susanna LeMasters, our Director of Communications, I am pleased to introduce as an experiment a regular communication from me, sometimes written and sometimes by video. The values I will ground this in are these:
Faith based
Relevant
Clear
Non-partisan
Encouraging
Why the title? It is a quote from 1 Kings 8:58, repeated in various forms in multiple books of the Bible. In this column, I hope to explore how we seek God and God's will in our lives, and how God in love inclines our hearts to Him in surprising ways.
Odds and Ends
My reflections in all these columns and other communications are my own, and do not necessarily represent the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma. I invite your feedback and ideas for future communications through the JotForm tool on our diocesan website, HERE.
