A New Chapter in Leadership at St. Simeon’s

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Logan as the new Chief Executive Officer of Saint Simeon’s Senior Living Community in Tulsa. Mike joins St. Simeons with a remarkable experience, over a dedicated career in senior living operations of more than 25 years.

Bishop Poulson Reed shared his thoughts on the new appointment, “As I’ve gotten to know Mike over the past few months, I’ve been so grateful that he has come to serve at St. Simeon’s. Mike is an experienced professional who leads with his heart, grounded in his Episcopal faith. As St. Simeon’s navigates the changing landscape of senior care, the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma is proud to stand with Mike and the St. Simeon’s board as a friend and partner.”

Mike reflected on his hopes for St. Simeon’s and a relationship with the Episcopal Churches in Oklahoma, “Working at Saint Simeons is a privilege and allows me to work in a pastoral leadership framework with the added responsibilities of running a business.  As a member of the Episcopal church, I am drawn to the faith component of position. Living out my faith daily, praying with staff, sharing the Gospel, and leading a very complex organization.  Right now, it is all about stabilizing the organization, solidifying the leadership team, recruit/retain staff members, increase our overall occupancy and implement our culture and values into the hearts and minds of our stakeholders (Residents, Families and Staff). I have hopes that SS will be not only be financially stable but grow our mission within the greater Tulsa community.”

“I want to build partnerships with local Parishes in hopes of getting our mission out to the greater constituency.  We have charitable needs and local Parishes are the center of our community. I want to build programs for assisting our staff, provide spiritual services to our residents and gain a sense of pride from the members of the church. At the same time, I want to hire a new Episcopal Chaplain to assist me in our overall Spiritual Life programming and leadership. I take a lot of pride in serving the Episcopal Community and I want the Diocese of Oklahoma to have that same sense of ownership. We have something pretty special here.  We truly care for the most vulnerable populations, memory care, long-term care, rehabilitation and assisted living. We are a humble organization that just wants to be an extension of the Episcopal ministry.”

Mike also spoke on the changing landscape of senior living operations, “There have been so many changes within Senior Services since the COVID Pandemic. Honestly, it has been a struggle, and we are still feeling the effects of the Pandemic. From a psychological perspective, people are still hesitant to work in the senior service industry. We were hit so hard and financially we are still recovering. It will take some time to eventually get to the level we were at prior to the COVID Pandemic. I feel confident that God provides and will continue to provide us with staff, financial resources and residents to care for. It is honestly a privilege to serve a faith based nonprofit organization.”
