The Rev. Suzanne Mollison Retires from St. Paul’s, Altus

The Rev. Suzanne Mollison is retiring from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Altus after 21 years of ministry. Suzanne was ordained a Deacon in 2004 and a Priest in 2015, graduating from the first class of the Diocese of Oklahoma Iona School of Ministry. Suzanne’s last Sunday will be on Sunday, Sept. 14th.

Suzanne reflected on her many years of faithful ministry, sharing a few highlights, “The highlight of my ministry has been the opportunity and great joy of serving in a small rural church where one has the privilege of walking with a community on their journey of faith in today’s world.  It is something very special to watch and nurture a young person as they grow in faith and maturity, to prepare and present them for confirmation, and then be asked to officiate at their wedding.  To be present and celebrate the birth of their children, followed by the privilege of baptizing those children.  Then to continue to serve and support three generations of a family as they continue on their faith journey, during both the “good times” and the “difficult times” of this life.”

She also shared what she will miss, “I will miss the people and the shared ministry of the community of faith that is St. Paul’s. It is my fervent hope and prayer that St. Paul’s continue to grow in faith and community.”
