Phil Armstrong, Project Director for the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Centennial Commission, will enlighten, educate and inform participants about the history and legacy of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. Participants will learn about Tulsa’s Historic Greenwood District, the storied “Black Wall Street,” including the massacre and its impact on Oklahoma and the nation (This is an online presentation on April 10, 2021 at noon CST).

New Hope began as an outreach ministry of the Episcopal Church in 1992 serving children at St. Crispin’s through summer camps. Now as a non-profit organization supported by Episcopal churches and Episcopalians throughout the state, New Hope serves hundreds of children annually through case management, after-school programs, family events, and summer camps.

Foundation Awards $700 to Local Episcopal Church

(OKLAHOMA CITY) – This winter, the Oklahoma City Community Foundation is helping provide warm meals to homebound elderly citizens by awarding $51,600 in grants to 40 area churches and organizations that prepare and deliver mobile meals through Meals on Wheels Oklahoma City, including Episcopal Church of the Resurrection. In addition, the Foundation is awarding $5,000 each to Meals on Wheels of Norman and Edmond Mobile Meals to support seniors in their areas.

2020 Bishop's Appeal

When we prayerfully considered how best to use the Bishop’s Appeal this year, and what faith-based organizations in Oklahoma (Episcopalian or not) were sacrificially serving those most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, one stood above the rest. Historic Vernon A.M.E. Church in Tulsa has served over 190,000 meals in their community since March 2020 through meals and bags of groceries.
