Consecration Choir

A Consecration Choir for the Ordination of The Reverend Poulson Reed as Bishop Coadjutor of Oklahoma is being formed and is open to choristers from all parishes of the diocese. The choir will be responsible for leading congregational hymns as well as singing anthems. The Consecration service will take place Saturday, April 18th at 11:00 am at the Freede Wellness Center on the campus of Oklahoma City University.

Oklahoma City Community Foundation Awards Grants

This winter, Oklahoma City Community Foundation is continuing its tradition of helping to provide warm meals to homebound elderly citizens by awarding $50,200 in grants to 52 area churches and organizations that prepare and deliver mobile meals throughout Oklahoma County, including All Souls Episcopal Church, Episcopal Church of the Resurrection and St. Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral in Oklahoma City. In addition, Meals on Wheels of Norman and Edmond Mobile Meals each received $5,000 grants.

All Bishop Candidates will be in the diocese Dec. 6-8 to participate in walkabouts. Everyone in the Diocese is invited to attend to meet the nominees in person. Walkabouts are an opportunity for candidates to present their vision for the Diocese and attendees to ask questions. Bishop Candidates will be interviewed by members of the Transitions committee at three different locations around that state. The Tulsa and OKC locations will be Live Streamed via Youtube. Day of Healing - Bell Ringing Ceremony

JOIN FR. JOE THIS SUNDAY AT 1:45pm for the Day of Healing and Nationwide Bell Ringing! 

August 25th is the 400th anniversary of the first landing of enslaved Africans in English-occupied North America at Point Comfort in Hampton, Virginia, now part of Fort Monroe National Monument, a unit of the National Park System. The anniversary will be commemorated as a day of healing and reconciliation. Bells will be rung, simultaneously across the nation for four minutes - one for each century - to honor the first Africans who landed in 1619 at Point Comfort and 400 years of African American History.

Following the close of the nominating period on July 6th, The Search and Nominating Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma reviewed the applications of all of the candidates which included answers to five essay questions and contacted the references which they each were asked to provide.

We have not only had several severe weather events but are expecting more events to occur.  There have been several tornado outbreaks the last few weeks. The Oklahoma Episcopal Diocese is a member of Oklahoma VOAD (Volunteer Organization Active During Disaster). We sit on the committee of Spiritual Care and on the Long Term Recovery Committee.

Michael Matkin to serve as a curate effective July 1, 2019.  Michael is a senior at the Seminary of the Southwest and was raised up for the ordained priesthood by All Saints’, McAlester.  He was ordained to the transitional diaconate at All Saints’ in January.
