An Announcement from the Standing Committee of the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma

The Rev. Mary Ann Hill, President of the Standing Committee, wants to share with the diocese that following the announcement by our Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Edward J. Konieczny of his intent to resign and retire on January 1, 2021, the Standing Committee has met with a representative of the Presiding Bishop's Office, engaged the services of a Bishop's Search Consultant and has formed a Search and Nominating Committee to discern candidates for the 6th Bishop of Oklahoma.

The Search and Nominating Committee will be meeting in retreat on January 18-19, 2019 with the Search Consultant to establish the process for gathering input from the diocese for discerning our next Bishop and creating a timeline leading up to the Ordination and Consecration of the Bishop Coadjutor on April 18, 2020.

Please keep our Search Committee, the Standing Committee, Bishop Ed and Debbie, and our Diocese in your prayers during this time of discernment.

Almighty God, giver of every good gift: Look graciously on your Church, and so guide the minds of those who shall choose a bishop for this Diocese, that we may receive a faithful pastor, who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
