Shaping the Parish

Shaping the Parish

How do we shape congregations that are characterized by prayer and service? Congregations of adoration, awe and service, that also are making use of the best methods of congregational development?

How do we shape congregations that are characterized by prayer and service? Congregations of adoration, awe and service, that also are making use of the best methods of congregational development?

“Shaping the Parish” is a training offered by the Order of the Ascension, a dispersed Benedictine religious community recognized by the Episcopal Church. “Shaping the Parish” is a two-year training program for individuals or congregational teams, drawing on the methods and knowledge of ascetical theology and organization development. There are 62 workshop hours on Zoom, a course of required readings, and a number of projects to be carried out (this is an application of methods mostly done in between modules, a larger project is done in the second year). Our own Bishop Poulson will be one of the trainers.

“A unique training approach grounded in prayer and the best of the Episcopal tradition, while challenging us and our congregations to become more effective organizations and to enter more deeply into the life of Christ.” The Rt. Rev. Poulson Reed, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma

For more information, go to shapingtheparish.com. The training begins in September, and registration is now open (with an early bird discount until May 15).
