This past weekend, St. Matthew's hosted a baseball clinic for 2nd-5th graders at the David Allen Memorial Ballpark. The goal of this event was to give children an opportunity to play some baseball!
With the assistance of many members and volunteers from the Enid Fire Department and Junior Welfare League of Enid, forty children were given lessons in the fundamentals of the game. Many of the children had never had a ball glove on their hand, but by the end of the day had learned the basics of the game. Each child went home with a quality baseball/softball glove, baseball/softball, and hat (sporting the Episcopal Shield).
St. Matthew's is already in the process of planning next year's event.
